Nightmare on William Street: Building Community Through Creativity

On October 24th, we brought something new and exciting to William Street in South Bend’s Near West Side Nightmare on William Street, a night of music, art, and community connection.

The event featured four incredible local artists who don’t often get the spotlight (or fair pay) they deserve. This time, they performed for a packed crowd of more than 140 people and got paid for their talent.

We also partnered with a local tattoo artist, who earned over $800 in just four hours, and a tarot card reader, who made nearly $400 during the event. The team from Michiana Bartenders joined us as well, and they shared that they made more tips than at any previous event.

What makes our events special is our commitment to reinvesting profits directly back into the community. For our next event, Billy’s Bazaar Holiday, we’re teaming up with a local boys and girls choir  not only paying them for their performance, but also offering free haircuts for youth. We’ll also be featuring another local artist collaboration, continuing our goal to uplift and invest in the Near West Side through creativity, inclusion, and shared celebration.
