When we launched Sound Bend Sessions last November, the idea was simple: create something intimate, honest, and rooted in the music itself.
Inspired by the stripped-back nature of Tiny Desk-style performances, we wanted to build a space where production takes a backseat, where the focus is purely on the artist, the vocals, and the instruments. No distractions. Just music the way it’s meant to be experienced.
We kicked things off with Paul Spring, who launched his tour with us in support of his new LP. That first session set the tone for everything that followed raw, immersive, and deeply connected.
Since then, Sound Bend Sessions has continued to grow beyond what we initially imagined. We’ve had the privilege of hosting incredible artists like Hollyy, Iris Blue, The Erly, and many more. Each session has brought something unique, but they all share the same foundation: authenticity.
What makes this even more meaningful is where it’s happening.
Our goal from day one has been to bring more live music to South Bend, Indiana. Growing up in Seattle, surrounded by a thriving music scene and countless venues, I experienced firsthand how powerful live music can be for a community. Moving to South Bend, one thing that immediately stood out was how resourceful people are here. There’s a real DIY spirit, people don’t wait for opportunities, they create them.
That mindset is exactly what inspired Sound Bend Sessions.
We wanted more live music, so we built it.
And it’s been an absolute joy hosting these sessions month after month.
Now, we’re excited to keep that momentum going.
We’ve got StarHeart, a local brother-and-sister duo, performing on May 10th, and we’ve recently added even more to the calendar, including Neptune’s Core and the return of Paul Spring as we celebrate the one-year anniversary of Sound Bend Records.
As Sound Bend Sessions continues to grow, so does the vision. More artists. More moments. More connection.
This is just the beginning.
