Grant-Lee's first solo album, Ladies' Love Oracle was recorded in just three days. Here, Phillips takes the warmth and broadness of his work with band Grant Lee Buffalo and internalizes it, producing a raw, yet focused acoustic work. Harmonica and piano fill out certain tracks but only to compliment the stark skeleton created by Grant-Lee's voice and guitar.
