On his second Blue Note release, saxophonist Joshua Redman unveils Words Fall Short, a deeply expressive set of original compositions that reflect on longing, resilience, and introspection. Written during the pandemic and brought to life with his newly formed quartet—Paul Cornish (piano), Philip Norris (bass), and Nazir Ebo (drums)—the album channels the chemistry built on the road during the world tour for his debut where are we.

Special guest appearances by Melissa Aldana (saxophone), Skylar Tang (trumpet), and Gabrielle Cavassa (vocals) add texture to an already emotionally resonant collection.
